About
Artist's statement
I invite the viewer to immerse themselves in narratives that propose a reflection on the human condition, activating the four universes of thought: unconscious, subconscious, conscious and memory. The works I present do not offer answers, but rather open questions that challenge each individual to find their own meaning, guided by their condition of existence, personal experience, social ties and capacity for imagination.
“Let art be an instrument to improve humanity.” - Silva Nuno
I have a deep connection with contrasts - between chaos and order, the visual and the tactile, form and texture. My aesthetic compositions oscillate between literal representations and social portraits, but they also intertwine intimate symbols and imaginary worlds, creating bridges to metaphorical and emotional contexts.
I see all forms of art as legitimate territories of expression.
“It is in art that man transcends life, because life transcends every man.” - Silva Nuno
