Nelson Gomes

Nelson Gomes was born in 1971 in Fonte do Oleiro, a town with strong roots in pottery and ceramics production.
With an innate talent for the arts, he began his professional career at an early age in the painting sector of a local ceramics company, where he learned the fundamental techniques of artistic painting on earthenware. His critical, innovative, and creative spirit quickly set him apart, leading him to become a trainer in the field.

Eager to expand his knowledge, he enrolled in a Decorative Arts and Painting course in an “Open Workshop” format in Leiria, where he specialized with distinction in porcelain painting, ceramics, and oil painting on canvas.

He has participated in various collective and individual exhibitions, consistently receiving highly positive feedback from the public, who recognize his originality and avant-garde approach.

For many years, he has attended international professional art and decoration events, maintaining direct contact with industry professionals.

Together with his wife, he dedicates himself exclusively to his passion for creating unique artistic decorative pieces, producing for renowned decorators and companies in the sector.

His studio houses a collection of his works, and he has the ability to create customized, always original, and unique pieces.

With a perfectionist yet humble personality, he is organized, dedicated, and highly observant of his surroundings, drawing inspiration from his environment to create ever-evolving collections. He constantly updates his materials and techniques, striving to produce one-of-a-kind pieces in pursuit of perfection.

He does not consider himself a painter or an artist; he simply follows his inspiration and the joy of innovation. The aspect of his work he enjoys the least is the repetition of his pieces, which is why they are always produced in limited editions—some even as one-of-a-kind creations.
