Biography

João Coutinho, known artistically as DINO, was born in 1956 in Beira, Mozambique. However, it is in Portugal—where he considers himself “very proud and firmly rooted” in his Portuguese identity—that he has lived his entire life. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and has pursued further studies in Management, Leadership, and Communication at Universidade Católica, Nova SBE, AESE, and ESADE (Madrid).

With a long and diverse professional career, he taught for 12 years and spent three decades working in multinational oil companies—20 years at Total and 10 at Cepsa—where he held leadership positions in various areas such as Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Supply, and Logistics. He also represented these companies at Apetro for over 25 years.

Of Goan descent, he served on the Board of Casa de Goa between 2010 and 2014, developing several projects and organizing more than 100 events over a decade. In the field of entrepreneurship, he was part of the Executive Board of Netmentora Lisboa from 2019 to June 2024, applying his leadership and business experience. In 2019, he resumed his dedication to drawing and painting. He also works as a manager, consultant, mentor, and speaker, balancing these activities with personal projects, organizing cultural gatherings, and nurturing his love for music.

In 2020, during the 90th Lisbon Book Fair, he co-authored and launched the book “Goa, Roteiro de uma Viagem”, the result of a trip he organized.
