Elizabeth Mayston

Elizabeth Mayston, an Algarve-based artist with Euro-African roots, infuses her work with the “gift of her essence”. Inspired by nature, people and the outdoors, her multidisciplinary approach spans paintings, photography, ceramics, textile design and décor, all marked by authenticity.
 

Her work explores themes of nature, pathways, human connections, and the interplay between the natural and human worlds. Through photography, she captures the beauty of people and places with a keen eye, while her oil paintings – especially her portraits - evoke deep emotion and storytelling.
 

For Elizabeth, art is a journey of self-discovery and mastery – a means of expanding her creative expression and inspiring others.
 

With a background in real estate, upholstery and furniture restoration across Cape Town and Paris, Elizabeth has cultivated a rich artistic journey. She has created her own hand painted ceramic brand, owned Galeria MonChic in Portugal and now curates and showcases her paintings on canvas at her atelier, sharing her evolving vision with the world.
