About
Artist's statement
My work is driven by questions that demand reflection: When will war, injustice, poverty, and violence end? When will we choose to protect one another and the world we share?
These questions pushed me to speak through art—becoming a voice for the unheard. I began by painting umbrellas as symbols of protection and solidarity, reminding us that safety is a shared responsibility.
This led to the creation of WNN: Winkeba e Nkeba bu Nkaka—“protect yourself and protect others” in Ibinda, a national language of Angola. It’s the guiding principle behind my work: art as both shelter and call to action.
