I see the world as a constant dialogue between abstract shapes and organic forms, where structure and fluidity coexist. My work reflects this ever-evolving perception, shaped by intuition rather than rigid planning.
Each piece develops naturally, allowing meaning to emerge on its own. Through my works, I try to capture a sense of movement and transformation—inviting viewers to see beyond the familiar and into something new.
Biography
Based in Lisbon, António is a surrealist painter whose work seeks to unveil a deeper truth—one that emerges from the delicate symbiosis between abstract shapes and organic forms. Through his art, he navigates the fluid boundaries of perception, capturing the world as he sees it: a shifting interplay of the structured and the formless, the familiar and the unknown.
His journey began in childhood, when he found solace in drawing and painting, often losing himself in the act of creation. Largely self-taught, António refined his craft with relentless curiosity, fueled by early experiences in a painting atelier. Each piece he creates is not merely a composition of color and form but a meditation on the essence of existence itself.
